God given land

Zionism, in a nutshell is the support for the establishment of a homeland for Jewish people in the land of Palestine. It is a fundamental belief of Zionists that the land of Jerusalem belongs to the Jewish people.

One of the five points of the "Jerusalem Program" that was drawn up in 1968 by the 28th Zionist Congress is:
"The strengthening of the State of Israel which is based on the prophetic vision of justice and peace"

"prophetic vision of justice and peace"?? Lets say for a moment there is a God who has indeed promised the land of Palestine to the Jews, why can't the Jews have faith in their God's word?? "prophetic vision of justice and peace?" For who??!! Why are you killing your brothers to obtain something your God has promised you?? Really? Is it worth it? Is it working? Where is your justice and peace? Do you think you would be closer to peace if you weren't constantly pushing the boarders of God given land?

Do this many Jews believe God is on their side in the conflict with the region they are illegally occupying?? Really? What kind of God is that? Fear of being labeled an "anti-semite" and general sympathy for Jews in a post-Hitler era causes far too many to turn their back on the atrocities which are continuously committed by Israeli's "defense"... To quote Noam Chomsky, "You cannot defend yourself when you are militarily occupying somebody else's land, call it what you like, it's NOT defense."

  1. Seriously. It baffles me that no country dares to call for sanctions in response to Israeli actions in Palestinian territory. Other repressive regimes are demonized, but here only a "tsk tsk" at best... Should not any person, of any religion, be able to live anywhere in the world with the same rights as everyone else?

The network of settlers is baffling and horrendously difficult, and ought never to have happened in the first place.

My instinctive ideas - integration going both ways, abolition of fences & checkpoints, require that arabic and hebrew be taught in the schools and classrooms be diverse and equal throughout the regions, etc - are not realistic in a region where Zionist populations and ideology are so dominant. Militarism breeds militarism, and I cannot believe that were Israel to halve its outward displays of control it would instantly be attacked. When Isreal freaking relaxes, ceases being a nasty invader, and the Palestinian regions are free to trade, study, and compete economically, the people will be too busy being productive to heed militant groups.

  2. I am hopeful that the moments of our Presidential inauguration, when the largest grouping of Americans from all backgrounds and belief systems were peacfully assembled, bowing our heads in common prayer, resounded with the change we are all wanting to see to those around the planet who were able to watch. It was not only an historical moment, but transformational as well.

Also, in keeping with your message of knowledge and research regarding cultural awareness, I hope everyone has seen the film 'Slumdog Millionaire' by now.

    Happy new year.

  5. Israel is proof there is a God and he in control. Most non-muslim anti-Israel efforts are based in rebellion. God made a promise to the Jews that once he regathered them in their homeland they would never be uprooted again.

I believe you'll see an attack on Israel that will result in the subjugation of her neighbors - Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, etc.. It will see the loss of palestinian causes such as hamas - Israel will gain land and increase her borders.

There is no reason Israel should stand today as a state after all of the wars brought against her by her neighbors. Yet she stands tall.

As I previously mentioned, God is in control.

  7. Ajnt, to whom is telling me "I have it all wrong"... really.. and your youtube videos provides the answer. . . where? In the Ronald Regan catagory? I haven't felt much of an urge over tha past months to publicly purge my reactions on teh internet to what goes on in the world politically (I've been a bit blog-disgustipated, to say the least).. but your comment if you're still around to follow up on it interested me. pray tell. how does the pre-desitny as seen by one of hundreds of thousands of religions trump all others and actually declare land to belong to their followers? And if the US of A is a Christian nation, (Christians believe Jews will burn in hell, by the way.. read your bible) why the support for Isreal?

I consider your comment just more unsubstaintiated propoganda... "you have it all wrong"... back that up.
